ENROLL NOW & PAY TO AVOID LATE FEES
**Starting November 1st, a $10 per month late fee will be added to ALL enrollments!
4-H ENROLLMENT POLICY UPDATE:
Our Gallatin County 4-H program enrollment policy has been updated and our enrollment window will open October 1st and will now close January 15th (previously March 1st) – which means ALL youth and volunteers MUST be enrolled in 4-H and any/all projects they plan to participate in no later than January 15th, especially if planning to participate in the Fair in that project area.
RETURNING 4-H Youth Members and Volunteers will re-enroll through their existing ZSuite account and re-select your projects and clubs for the new 4-H Year.
BE SURE to update any mailing addresses, parent AND youth emails, phone numbers and/or medical information at this time.
NEW 4-H Youth Members technically have all the way until January 15th to join our county 4-H program.
However, the earlier the better to ensure they can take full advantage of program offerings, New 4-H Family Orientations, project orientations, club elections and get in before projects fill up!

Due to facility and/or leader and project capacity, the following 4-H Projects are NOW FULL and are no longer accepting enrollments for the 2025-2026 year:
- Baking @ MSU w/ leader Erin, Katie & Krista
- Cake Decorating w/ leader Izzy
- Cooking @ MSU w/ leader Ryley
- Dog Obedience w/ leader Jen
- Knitting & Crochet w/ leaders Kim & Kate
- Leathercraft w/ leader Meritta
- Sewing w/ leader Laura
These projects have now been "hidden" on ZSuite to prevent additional enrollments. **If you are interested in being added to a waitlist in case any member drops the project, please email gallatin4h@montana.edu
We are very excited to see that these projects were so popular! We apologize for the inconvenience if you were interested in enrolling in one of these projects, but this shows how important it is to enroll sooner than later when the new 4-H year opens.
**Reminder:
The Robotics Project (Levels 1 & 2) WILL NOT be offered in the 2025-2026 4-H Year. We will be taking this time to fundraise to purchase updated equipment and robotics kits to better serve youth learning experiences in future years. The curriculum and kits we currently use are outdated and tech support has been discontinued. We hope to offer some exploratory Robotics “pop-up” workshops in Spring 2026 - stay tuned!

📋 Listed on our Club/Project selection guides here:
For projects
with leaders, meetings will typically reoccur on the same day/time each month - see the Club/Project selection lists.

LAST CALL: Seeking 2025-2026 4-H Year Themes
Submit your ideas via this form:
https://forms.gle/QuuwftmZmTRwpPkz7 by November 3rd!
We are seeking theme/phrase ideas for our 2025-2026 4-H Year (& 2026 4-H/FFA Fair)! We need a good, catchy phrase to use for marketing and logo purposes throughout the year. We are striving to be more inclusive (as we have both 4-H and FFA members at our Fair), so please refrain from using "4-H" in the phrase.
- Think of words or characteristics that embody 4-H and FFA (growing, learning, exploring)
- Puns or rhyming are welcomed!
- Use Google/Pinterest to get inspiration
- Theme phrases need to be fun and easy to use for Club Display booths, possible merchandise or stickers, advertising, etc.
Examples of themes from past years:
- "Welcome to 4-H Fairadise" (paradise/luau)
- "Discover the Treasure of 4-H" (compass/treasure map)
- "Rising Above the Rest" (hot air balloons)
- "Mountains of Adventure"
- "Rooted in 4-H"
- "THIS is 4-H Country"
- “The MAGIC of 4-H” and “The MAGIC of Fair”

Setting S.M.A.R.T Goals in 4-H Record Books
4-H Record Books give members an opportunity to reflect on their yearly work. Record Books require youth to document their skill development and their learning experiences in a written report. 4-H members measure their achievements and growth in their total years in 4-H. 4-H Record Books encourage members to set goals, pursue strategies to meet those goals, and to shift gears in the face of challenges and obstacles.
As we enter November, families should be picking up their Project Record Book documents and curriculum books from our 4-H office and working to set youth S.M.A.R.T goals for the 2025-2026 4-H Year.
S.M.A.R.T Goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound objectives that help youth in 4-H programs achieve their aspirations effectively.
Here’s a breakdown of each component in the context of 4-H:
Specific:
- Goals should be clear and specific, answering the questions of who, what, where, when, and why. For example, instead of saying "I want to improve my skills," a specific goal would be "I want to learn how to plant a vegetable garden in my backyard."
Measurable:
- There should be criteria for measuring progress toward the goal. This could involve quantifying the goal or setting milestones. For instance, "I will plant at least 10 different types of vegetables by the end of the summer."
Attainable:
- Goals should be realistic and achievable, considering the resources and constraints. An attainable goal might be "I will dedicate two hours each week to gardening."
Relevant:
- The goal should matter to the individual and align with broader objectives. For example, "Learning to garden will help me understand where my food comes from and promote healthy eating."
Time- Bound:
- Goals should have a deadline or timeframe for completion. For instance, "I will complete my vegetable garden by June 30."

Help Raise Money for your 4-H Project or Club
We have the AMAZING opportunity to continue to work MSU Concessions and this has become a GREAT way to raise money for 4-H club/project activities! Please see the link below for the 2025 Fundraising concessions events at MSU! We frequently commit to events throughout the year as they arise and update the SignUp Genius accordingly.
What does working MSU Concessions entail?
All food is made and prepped by MSU Culinary/Concessions staff, 4-H members/parents just simply sell and serve it out of one of the concessions stands on MSU Campus (Stadium or Fieldhouse depending on the event). This is a super easy, fun and quick way to make money for your Clubs/Projects and gain some skills in the service industry! A Stand Leader and MSU Concessions staff will train you on the spot with what you need to know - No experience necessary!
2025-2026 MSU Concessions Fundraising SignUp:
Fundraising: 4-H Concessions Fundraising Opportunities
If club/project members sign up for an event as a group, your club/project will get ALL the tips and a percentage of the profits from that event. If multiple projects/clubs sign up for the same game, then the tips and profits will be split between the groups. So, we highly encourage you to gather up your members, pick a game/event that your club/project will work as one group to maximize the amount of money you will earn!
Depending on the event, the day/time/hours will vary and depending on our concessions stand location, the number of people we will need per game will vary. We will need a combination of youths (minimum age of 10 with parent accompaniment) and teens/adults (ages 15+) to run cash registers.
If you have any questions, please contact the 4-H Office

CAN THE GRIZ 2025
For those who don't know, Gallatin 4-H Agent Molly is an MSU Alumni x2 (GO CATS) and is
VERY competitive when it comes to anything involving our rivals the Griz.
The annual "Can the Griz" Food Drive is a friendly off-field competition between the Montana State University Bobcats and Bozeman Community, against the University of Montana Grizzlies and Missoula Community, to see who can raise the most food and money in the two weeks leading up to the annual Brawl of the Wild football game!
This year, we are encouraging any and all Gallatin 4-H Clubs, Projects and individual members to participate in this annual fundraiser!
Gallatin County 4-H will have a non-perishable food drop-off bin located within our 4-H Office (903 N. Black Ave, Bozeman) during the duration of the fundraiser, November 8-22, 2025. Our office is open weekly, Monday - Friday (8am-5pm). All items are “due” to our office by November 21st. See food item wishlist below.
Food Drive Contest:
***The 4-H Club or Project that collects the MOST (pounds) food will be awarded
PRIZE MONEY to their 4-H Club/Project financial account! Items will be separated by Club/Project when donated and weighed to determine winners. The office will then donate the food to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank directly at the conclusion of the contest to add to the Bozeman Community’s (and CATS🐱) grand total to hopefully beat Missoula (and the Griz)🐻
All donations collected throughout these two weeks help stock the shelves of the Gallatin Valley Food Bank as well as MSU’s campus food pantry, the Bounty of the Bridgers well into the next year.

Shooting Sports Leader Training
Our Gallatin 4-H Shooting Sports projects serve over 170 youth every year and with another 4-H Year right around the corner, we are always looking to recruit more 4-H Shooting Sports Volunteers! Shooting Sports is a safe, fun and challenging activity that can become a lifelong passion to be shared with the family. The safe and responsible use of firearms and archery equipment is the primary focus of the 4-H Shooting Sports program. Youth members will improve marksmanship skills, have the opportunity to compete, and learn self-discipline and personal responsibility.
ALL 4-H shooting sports volunteers must attend a State Training workshop and become certified in a shooting discipline before serving as project leaders and volunteers. Project disciplines include: Air Pistol, Small Bore Pistol (.22), Air Rifle, Small Bore Rifle (.22), Archery, Shotgun, Muzzleloading, Hunting, and Western Heritage.
To be a certified leader in the State of Montana, the following must be satisfied:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be enrolled as a leader in their respective County. Passed a background check and successfully completed the Montana 4-H Volunteer Training Modules.
- All training attendees must complete the four National 4-H Shooting Sports modules on Z-Suites to be certified at the end of the practicum day. The code for Z-Suites will be shared with the folks that sign up to take the trainings.
- Be trained and certified in any discipline(s) that they are teaching at the county level.
- Participants must attend the entire training and successfully complete all aspects to receive their respective discipline certification.
- Certification is good for seven (7) years. If the discipline is not taught in the first 2 years, the course must be retaken.
UPCOMING LEADER TRAINING OPPORTUNITY:
The Montana 4-H Center is hosting a Shooting Sports Leader Training in
BELGRADE on December 5-6, 2025. The cost of the State Training is $75.00/discipline, but Gallatin 4-H Shooting Sports side accounts will cover the cost for you once registered.
The following disciplines will be offered at the Belgrade training:
- Rifle
- Pistol
- Archery
- Coordinator
If you will be a NEW volunteer in general, please contact us at the Gallatin 4-H Office first so we can help you create your ZSuite Volunteer account first.

 |
GALLATIN 4-H FOUNDATION, INC.
The mission of the Gallatin 4-H Foundation is to aid and promote, by financial assistance and support, all types of 4-H Programs and other Extension Youth Programs.
Meetings occur quarterly and/or when needed, usually on the 4th Thursday at 6pm at the 4-H Office.
There have been some changes to our meeting schedule – please read:
Our NEXT committee meeting will now be Thursday, November 20th at 6pm (adjusted to the 3rd Thursday of the month to avoid Thanksgiving on the 4th Thursday) – PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND
- Vote in our 2025-2026 Youth Member Representatives (they will be interviewed/selected earlier that week)
- Review/Update account signers
- **Review/Draft our 2026 Budget as a whole group
- Brainstorm fundraising for the New Year
- Review minor adjustments needed on the Revised Achievement Journal
There will be NO meeting in December – in years past we have met in early December to draft our budget but if we are already meeting so late in November, I’d hate to meet back-to-back and request extra time from you all in such a busy holiday month.
We will no longer have a combined Annual Meeting with ULC in early January. At one point in time it may have been beneficial to meet this way for an annual update, but with how our committees function now, it is not as impactful (and you’ve probably noticed how chaotic it is every year with me running back and forth between the two conference rooms to tend to both committees).
- Instead, we will get back on track with our 4th Thursday of the month starting on Thursday, January 22nd, 2026
- Vote in our 2026 Budget
- Review/Revise Scholarship Packet for 2026
- Review/Revise Scholarship Review Rubric for 2026
- Discuss plans for 2026 Give Big
- Fundraising plans
Other meetings for 2026
- Thursday, April 23, 2026
- Thursday, June 25, 2026
- Thursday, August 27, 2026
- October/November/December 2026 – plans TBD

AMBASSADORS / TEEN LEADERSHIP
Hello!
Thank you for enrolling in the 4-H Teen Leadership Project for the 2025-2026 4-H Year. I am very excited to be your Project Leader again this year! As the 4-H Agent, I may not be able to say I have favorites, but I can have preferences – and the Teens are my
PREFERRED group to work with😉 So exciting many of you will be joining me at the Montana 4-H Fall Leadership Training event November 7-9 as well!
I took over the project a couple years ago and we essentially started from a clean slate. Teen Leadership will be run as a project, open to
anyone ages 14-19, but the official County Ambassador Team will be determined by application and interview only (see more info below). My goal for the Teen Leadership Project is to provide teen members tangible skills to improve and increase their leadership abilities, confidence, involvement in our county program. Teen Leadership usually meets once a month for meetings that provide training, networking, leadership skill building and planning opportunities for the various events/programs I rely on the teens helping me with. Our teen leaders typically help plan/teach our Winter Workshop, Club Officer Training, work with our Clubs to offer programming, teach Animal Quality Assurance workshops, help our Cloverbud Project, and plan our end-of-year awards celebration. I will intentionally be bringing in a few guests to our monthly meetings throughout the year to work with us on specific skills and networking opportunities within our community.
If you haven’t already, Teens & Parents – Subscribe to our Teen Leadership/Ambassador BAND Group: https://band.us/n/ababA1o243K4K
Our FIRST Teen Leadership Project meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 11th from 6:00pm - 8:30pm at our 4-H Office.
First Meeting Agenda:
- Team building activities
- Start planning the county-wide Club Officer Training and Winter Workshop
If interested in serving as a Gallatin County 4-H Ambassador:
- Teens (ages 14+) that have been in 4-H for at least 2 years, may apply to become a County Ambassador if they are interested. There will be up to 8 County Ambassadors selected for the 2025-2026 4-H Year. These teens will
also need to enroll and participate in the Teen Leadership Project, but will serve our 4-H program in a larger, more advanced capacity. They will work directly with the 4-H Agent, office and Club Leaders to plan events throughout the year, mentor and assist with the Teen Leadership project and be expected to represent our county program at 4-H activities.
- *Application and interview required to be considered for a County Ambassador Team position. If you are interested in becoming an official County Ambassador, please read and complete the attached application and submit it to the office by November 1st.
- Interviews will be held: November 17th, 2025 at the 4-H Office - SignUp for an Interview time here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C084DA9A92AABFE3-58583066-ambassador
- MARK YOUR CALENDARS: The Ambassador Team Retreat will be Friday, November 21 (afternoon) overnight to Saturday, November 22 (afternoon) at the Airbnb in Belgrade that we used last year

*This Project will be capped at 25 youth members. Youth members must be at least 11 years old (age as of Oct. 1st) to participate.
This project curriculum familiarizes youth with the responsibilities of babysitting and provides the necessary information for them to become capable, caring, trustworthy and competent sitters. They will learn how to keep children safe and happy, talk with parents and adults, make responsible decisions and handle emergencies (CPR, nutrition, handling children, and more)!
This project will meet the second Wednesday of each month from 6:00pm-7:30pm (November-May) at the 4-H Office. I will attach a map with the next email for those of you who aren’t sure where that is.
The first meeting will be Wednesday, November 12th.
My name is Erin Neil. I am a Registered Nurse, Certified Lactation Consultant, mom of 2 daughters, a 4-H alum and I have been a 4-H volunteer for 5 years. This is my first year leading the babysitting project but I am excited to learn along with these kids!
I will plan to send an e-mail the Sunday or Monday before each meeting as a reminder and will include any requests for the participants to bring along (binder, markers, ideas etc:).

I’m thrilled to take on this new challenge as your leader and can’t wait to get started.

CAMP COUNSELOR PROJECT
Camp Counselor Interviews will be December 3rd and December 4th, 2025 at the 4-H Offie by signup only
REMINDERS & UPDATES FOR THE NEW 4-H YEAR:
- The 2024-2025 4-H year was the
LAST year that 13 year olds were allowed to serve as Camp Counselors. Beginning this 4-H Year (2025-2026), youth must now be 14 years old and older (age as of Oct. 1st) to serve as a Camp Counselor. Camp Counselor applications will be released with Enrollment in October and due Nov. 1st for those age-eligible and interested. Interviews will be early December.
- BE AWARE that in 2025-2026 we will be CAPPING the camp counselor project to 25 Counselors (including E-Board counselors). We need a more manageable group size and the most dedicated, youth-service driven teens to serve as our counselors.
- In 2025-2026 we will also be trying out a recurring meeting date/time for the sake of consistency and commitment to the project. We will meet the fourth Sunday of each month (January - May) from 1pm-4pm at the 4-H Office. The longer meeting timeframe will allow for more training to be incorporated, with plenty of time to plan/prep workshops and committee work each month.

HORSELESS HORSE PROJECT
Our first meeting was held October 22 at the 4-H Office. We had a surprise visitor, Teddy, that let us learn about the parts of the horse. We also played BINGO to start our year off right!
Don't be high Mane-tenance! Join us in the Horseless Horse Project for all these fun upcoming events:
*Saturday, Nov 8 at 10am Bob Miller Pavilion (MSU Barn) - The "Developing the Young Horse" program will be putting on a special viewing for us! We'll be learning about how they are starting their young horses and also learn about face and leg markings. This will be one that you won't want to miss!
*Wednesday, Dec. 3rd at 6pm Building #4 at the Fairgrounds - This will be our annual ornament exchange and party. Please bring a wrapped ag-related ornament. We will also learn about riding patterns and play games by driving each other around... equine-style!
*Christmas Gift Wrapping - be on the lookout for dates that we will be wrapping at Murdoch's. This is a great opportunity for those under 10 to have a chance to volunteer at a fundraiser!
*Saturday, Jan. 10 at 10am Murdoch's (Bozeman North 7th Location) - We'll be staying warm this month while we learn about the costs of owning a horse! We will also hear from Murdoch's employees about careers available in the retail industry.
Be sure to register soon for this project. We have a Riding Lesson Incentive Program this year, and you don't want to miss out!

LEATHERCRAFT PROJECT
**This Project is FULL and is no longer taking new enrollments.
The October meeting was an Orientation - if you missed it, no worries! We went over how to fill out the record books (my 4H year, non-animal journal, and the activities list), and we handled, and examined many samples of leather highlighting the types of tanning (veg tanned, chrome tanned), sources (cow, pig, lizard, kangaroo, toad, elephant, snake, etc), and uses.
Our next meeting had to be moved up a week and will now be Saturday, Nov 8 from 1pm-4pm at the 4-H Extension Office large conference room.
Our regularly scheduled meetings will be the Saturday after the 3rd Thursday of each month except for December. I also have the occasional workshop that will be scheduled later and on days when travel is reasonable as I also travel from Wyoming as we are living between Belgrade and Wyoming right now.

LIVESTOCK JUDGING PROJECT
*If you are already participating in Livestock Judging with FFA, please do not signup to participate/compete in this 4-H Project.
Hello everyone!
Livestock judging competitions are in full swing and our team is doing great. We competed at the NILE in the middle of October and our senior team placed 5th at this competition! Our juniors did well also, with a tie for 4th place. Way to go!
We will continue to meet every Tuesday through the competition season. Our meetings take place at 6:30pm at the 4-H extension office. Any change to time or place will be sent out through email.
If you know someone, or are someone, that is interested in livestock evaluation or in improving your public speaking skills, get signed for the livestock judging project. We are looking for as many kids as possible to fill this great project.
Please reach out with any questions you may have!

PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT
**This Project is FULL and is no longer taking new enrollments.
The Photography Project will meet on the 4th Monday of each month at 6:00pm-7:30pm (October - June) at the 4-H Extension Office.
Date Change: The November meeting has been moved up a week to November 17, same place at the same time. This month challenge: landscape, or finding a horizon line (we land/building/etc. meet the sky.
BAND APP: https://band.us/n/a0a9AcM794fcI
Please join the PHOTOGRAPHY BAND on the app before you come. This is separate from the County 4-H BAND - same app just different BAND.
You may RSVP fo the meeting through BAND and upload any photos (see below). Let me know if you have any issues or questions.
What to bring:
- Notebook (Binder is helpful) & Pen/pencil
- Camera and equipment you plan to use - or have questions about using
- Photos you have take OR an example of a photograph(s) that you really like (you can upload these into the BAND prior to the meeting into our first album 25/26 ALBUM 1 (Inspiration) https://band.us/band/92752413/album/89186406
- Smartphone, ipad, or computer that is able to upload the BAND app.
- RETURNING MEMBERS: your past portfolios and record books to show to the rest of the group.
What to expect:
- Project overview and get to know each other
- BAND app - We use the BAND a lot! We use it for communications, and also to upload and critique our photos.
- Critiques - Each meeting is centered around a critique of the photo challenge that was assigned previously. Through these critiques, we learn about composition and the concepts in photography through these challenges and critiques.
- Set project goals, share ideas for photo walks, field trips, etc.
- First challenge
- Project Q&A
A note about project books: They are not mandatory. The 4-H project books are beautiful workbooks , but I do not appreciate how they are organized or how they approach groups that work in a variety of photography formats. SO... we do not officially use them. We learn through our project meetings, photo walks, and especially through our challenges and critiques and knowledge/skills learned are reflected through the mandatory portfolios. The judges at Fair know that project books are optional - the portfolios are not. That said, you are welcome to work through the project books on your own, and I will happily look at your books and sign off on them as project leader.

QUILTING PROJECT
Youth members must be at least 10 years old (age as of Oct. 1st) to participate.
The Gallatin County Quilting Project is off and running!
We had our first quilting meeting of the year. We made plans and wrote goals for the year. Now we are ready to start sewing. It is not too late to join our group, but if interested, should be done by our next meeting. It will be really fun to see what these creative 4-Hers will create this year.
We are
meeting twice each month, one Saturday meeting at the 4-H conference room, and one evening meeting per month at the middle school in Manhattan, as many of the participants live in the west end of the county. The night of the week sill rotate from month to month, as there was not one good night for the whole group.
So, tentatively, next meeting will be at 6:30pm-8:30pm at Manhattan Middle School on Monday, November 10th. The next meeting after that will be Saturday, Nov. 15th from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the 4-H Conference Room at the fairgrounds.
If you were not at the first meeting, please contact me for a list of supplies needed for each meeting.
If you have questions, please call or text me at 406.581.6843.

Level 2 sewers are invited to this meeting also, but it is not required. Please bring your sewing machine, if you have one and know how it works. We also have machines available for use at the meeting. All supplies for the pillow will be provided.

CAT PROJECT
As we near our first 2025-26 Gallatin County 4-H Cat Project Meeting, I would like to remind everyone that we are hoping to have dinner (usually a pasta dish and salad or taco/sandwich bar etc) or heavy snacks (veggies, dip, hummus, pitas, salami, etc) at all meetings to help with mid-week, school night meal plans- If you are interested in helping out, please let me know and we can coordinate so that we can potluck as well.
The first meeting will be November 5th, 5:30pm at Alpenglow Animal Hospital at 2401 Riata Rd, Bozeman, in the middle of Baxter Meadows West Housing Development- it is a log building with business parking lot. If our members can remember to bring their non-financial animal record book and Cat Project Workbook, we will set aside 10 min each meeting to help get them filled out so there is no last minute crunch next summer to get them done.
Again, we will not be having a January Meeting (and December may be a small/short one), as we have found attendance to be very low during the holidays. We would also welcome any members or parents/adults to give a short talk/demonstration or lesson at one of the meetings so we can learn from a variety of other cat enthusiasts this year! If you have other fun cat-themed ideas to share with our group, please let me know too! We are hoping to have lots of fun this year learning all about cats and taking care of them!

DOG OBEDIENCE PROJECT *new leader in 2025-2026!
**This Project is FULL and is no longer taking new enrollments.
Hello Dog Obedience Members!
I hope that everyone had a great October! Thank you to all of you that came out to join us for our Halloween Pack Walk and Haunted House and for those of you that attended our first extra seminar this season! Remember we will be having our next extra seminar on Wednesday, November 19th at 5pm. Location will be at Montana Murray Kennels, 25 Dollar Drive in Belgrade. Groomer Morgan, with River Dog Grooming, will be giving a talk and demo on grooming. After you attend these extra seminars, I encourage you to write a short paragraph on what you learned or thought was interesting because these paragraphs can be used as activities for your workbooks.
We are currently planning our December extra seminar so stay tuned for updates on that. I hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving and enjoys the fall before the snow starts to fly! As always if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out!
For dog agility and dog obedience we will start our dog practices in the spring at Montana Murray Kennels at 25 Dollar Drive in Belgrade. I believe that both projects are going to be held on Wednesdays but I have yet settle on time/times until I have numbers. With that said it would be between 4 and 6pm I believe when the sessions would be. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me! I look forward to this new 4-H year!

- LUNCH: Pizza and Drinks Provided around Noon for Everyone. Let’s all try to be there to reconnect and meet new members!
- CLOTHING & TACK SWAP and SHOP: The Gallatin County 4-H Horsemanship Project would like to invite you to participate in a Used Tack and Clothes Swap or Sell time! Help someone else find that perfect saddle, bridle, show shirt, boots or horse swag and clean out your closet and tack room at the same time! Let's get prepared for a great 4H year!
Requirements:
1. Parents must participate and approve with both sale AND purchases
2. All items must be in safe, clean, and usable condition. We will have a clothes rack, but bring items on hangers and some way to display your tack.
3. All items must be marked with your name, phone number, and price or "FREE!"
4. All payments must be privately arranged between buyer and seller.
5. You are responsible for taking home items which don't sell or get rehomed!
Suggestions:
1. Work together with your 4-Her to choose items that have been outgrown, or do not fit your horses and kiddos.
2. Encourage your 4-Her to make a list of items that they would like to find or need for the upcoming season, complete with budget prices!
3. Encourage kids to bring some of their own hard earnyed money to use toward the things they need:) Don't forget to record items in the costs section of their workbooks!
4. Keep in mind both how much you would like to have for your items, and your bottom line. When a kid has a big enough smile.... wiggle as far as you can on the price☺️😉.
Let's have fun letting the kids "shop" and swap!
WEBSITE: Most things you need to know about the horse project can be found on our website, at Gallatin County 4H Horse https://www.gallatincounty4hhorse.com. At the very bottom of the page, you will find links to the Paperwork Requirements, the Horse Manual, Information sheet, as well as a calendar of events that you can easily add to your calendar. We will be available at the Intro Meeting to talk over requirements and answer any questions. If you are new, please be sure and meet your project leaders!
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: TONI BERGER STEPS DOWN FROM HORSE COMMITTEE
Let's all give special thanks to Toni Berger for her years of service on the Horse Committee. Toni has a servant's heart and is always willing to take the jobs no one really wants, from Treasurer to Gopher girl! She always has a smiling face, a word of encouragement, and a willingness to get things done. She has been a HUGE blessing to the Horse Project and we will miss her on the Horse Committee!! We love you Toni!!
