4-H Promotional Booth
We need 4-H members and parents/leaders to help promote our organization at the 4-H promotional booth in the Indoor Exhibit Building during Fair Week! You will just simply need to be there and answer questions regarding how to get involved, pass out the information and merchandise we will have provided!
Think of it as "indoor barn duty"! |

BAKING @ MSU
**This Project is FULL and is no longer taking new enrollments.
We are so excited to see all of the baked items you all bring to the fair for those who registered!
Please remember these things that are in the Fair Handbook:
GENERAL RULES FOR FOOD ENTIRES:
1. ALL food entries will be accepted on Sunday, July 13th for indoor exhibit judging and interviews.
2. All food items may come to the fair plated to the desire of the youth, although most attention will be paid to the quality of the goods. While sitting with the judge, a serving will be provided to the judge and a portion of the goods will be transferred to a disposable plate with a zip lock bag to be displayed for the remainder of the fair. Please bring necessary serving utensils (pie scoop, small spatula, fork etc).
3. All food entries, including hot and refrigerated, must be presented for judging at a food safe serving temperature. If judge deems temperatures are not safe, they will not sample.
4. Complete recipe for all food exhibits must be attached. For commercial mix, paste directions on card and eliminate reference to brand. Do not use packaged mixes unless specified in class number.
5. Exhibitor to bring a minimum of 3 servings of their food product (i.e., 3 cookies, 3 muffins, 3 biscuits, 3 servings of cake, etc.). If bringing a cake or pie or loaf of bread, bring entire food product (unsliced). After judging, the exhibitor may take home all but that mentioned above in Rule Number 2.
6. Cakes should be exhibited out-of-pan. Cupcakes should be baked without liners. Bread should be baked in an 8”x 4” or 9”x 5” pan unless it is a braided or shaped bread; pies should be baked in a 9” or 10” pie pan.
7. Food entries will be judged on appearance (attractiveness, display, uniformity, cleanliness, etc.), adherence to entry rules (recipe attached, appropriate number of servings), texture and flavor.
8. Judging will be based on age division: Junior (Ages 8-13) and Senior (Ages 14+)

CAMP COUNSELORS
4-H Summer Camp will be August 2nd (August 1st arrival for Counselors) - August 5th, 2025 at Yellowstone Alliance Adventures!
Thank you for a productive Run-Through Day this past Saturday! We appreciate the feedback and questions you provided your peers as they practiced their workshops – thank you to those who brought snacks to share as well. We are excited to see how camp comes together and we appreciate your time, effort and dedication to this project. If you were not at Run-Through Day, it is up to YOU to connect with your camp committee, workshop committee and large group activity committee to ensure you know what they need from you and what you need to practice/prep before camp (lists are attached to this email to refresh your memories).
MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
- Scheduling Committee = Monday, June 30th @ 6pm at the 4-H Office
- Design/Marketing Committee to heat press ALL camp shirts = Tuesday, July 22nd @ 6pm at the 4-H Office
- Registration Committee to assemble all nametags = Tuesday, July 22nd @ 6pm at the 4-H Office
- E-Board meeting = Tuesday, July 29th @ 6pm at Tiffany’s house in Belgrade
- Fundraising/Budget Committee = will be responsible for writing Thank You notes to all our Camp Sponsors while we are at Camp
- CPR Certification Training (4 hr training, earns you a 2-yr. cert) = Date/Time TBD
- We do not require camp counselors to be CPR certified, however it is a great life skill and resume builder – we get these trainings at a discounted cost (usually $30 per counselor)
- 2025 CAMP = Counselors need to arrive at 3pm on FRIDAY, August 1st at Yellowstone Alliance Adventure. We will move into the cabins, decorate, sort supplies and run through skits. Youth Campers arrive on Saturday, August 2nd starting at 10am. Everyone checks out on Tuesday, August 5th by 11am (counselors stay a little longer to ensure camp is clean and nothing is left behind)
Fundraising:
As discussed at Run-Through Day, there are options for you to “settle up” if you did not raise your $250 registration fee.
- You can pay the difference between $250 and what you were able to raise (cash, check or card at the 4-H office ASAP)
or
- Connect with Molly to determine community service hours that will “pay off” your balance (examples: deep cleaning the 4-H office, promotional booth shifts during Fair, loading/packing all camp supplies into the vehicles before camp, cleaning/organizing banners/supplies after Fair)
2025 Cabin Partners: Each counselor will receive a colored t-shirt in their respective cabin color with “Camp Counselor” and 4-H Clover printed across the chest to wear on camp check-in day to be easily identifiable by their youth campers as they get to know you. Connect with your cabin partners to plan decorations, responsibilities, etc.
- Jaxson & Kallen = Orange Cabin (8-9 yr. old boys)
- Hayes & Sawyer = Red Cabin (9-10 yr. old boys)
- Will, Sean & Bob = Dark Green Cabin (10-11 yr. old boys)

HORSELESS HORSE
What a beautiful summer we're having!
Horseless Horse will not be having any more meetings this year, but I hope to see you at fair. I'm looking forward to seeing great submissions to wrap up our year together. Be sure to sign up for an interview time, if you haven't already! The horse show is Friday-Sunday, July 11-13, if you would like to see fellow 4-H members and their horses show their skills.
If you have time during fair week, please consider volunteering for a few hours at the Indoor Project area to share the joy of 4-H with our community.
*Horseless Horse Project interviews will be during Indoor Interviews on the afternoon of Sunday, July 13th. Be sure to sign up for a time slot after you register for fair.
*During Fair week, be sure to volunteer for a spot assisting the indoor 4-H project displays. It's an awesome opportunity to share with Fair visitors about the things you've done in 4-H this year!
* August - Be on the lookout for info to volunteer during the Bozeman Stampede. They donate a large portion of money back to Gallatin 4-H based on what projects volunteer. Help us by signing up and making $$ for our project to continue doing Horse activities!

SHEEP
Keep watch for the pre-fair email with details on fair week!
Some highlights are:
- Sheep check in Monday, 7/14 6-8pm
- Have your vet check form all filled in before your turn to talk with the vet. For any medication given to your lambs look for the withdrawal period and keep in mind these lambs will be going to the processor and we want to sell the best meat possible to our buyers. If you have questions on what meds can be given this close to fair please ask
- Do not unload your sheep until vet has signed off This process takes a while. Our vet is amazing and needs time to look at each lamb. Have patients please we will get everyone checked in.
- Sheep MUST be slicked sheared before vet check in
- Information posters are due at check in Monday, 7/14
- Name and date on back of poster, you can not use poster from previous year
- MANDATORY Sheep Exhibitor Meeting Tuesday, 7/15 at 8am
- Please be doing weight checks remember minimum weight is 110 max weight is 160
