End-of-Year 4-H Awards Celebration for Volunteers and Youth!
Our 4-H Awards Celebration is our annual opportunity to celebrate 4-H volunteers and youth members! We have an afternoon planned to recognize volunteers who have done some outstanding work and who have been a part of the program for years! We will also celebrate youth who excelled in their projects this year and did an outstanding job being a part of the community.
The 2023 Awards Celebration will be held at the Bozeman Grantree Inn on SUNDAY, October 1st at 2pm.
We are trying something new this year to avoid a late night on a school night - we have shifted our Awards celebration to the afternoon and will have a catered Dessert/Ice Cream Sundae Bar and light refreshments provided for all attendees (please note we are not serving dinner this year).
Come have a Sundae on Sunday with us!

Youth Award Opportunities
Project Award Nominations:
Our office recently mailed out paper letters to 4-H youth who have been nominated for 2023 Project Awards. **If you received this letter, please make sure to follow the requirements and turn in your updated record book(s) back to the office for one more review by September 7th, 2023.
With both record-keeping and interview skills being equally important to develop in our youth, the two areas were scored and totaled to determine award nominees. Members that scored 75% or higher were nominated to be considered for a Project Award(s). *Please note that nomination does not guarantee an award.
Outstanding 4-H Member of the Year – Achievement Journals:
Each year Gallatin County Unlimited Leaders Council gives awards to outstanding 4-H members in the form of scholarships. These monetary scholarships are provided by the Gallatin County 4-H Foundation and generously sponsored by the Harris and Elizabeth Kirk Trust. The number and dollar value of the scholarships vary yearly based on the number of qualified applicants, as well as the availability of funds. The 4-H Member of the Year Award Winners are to be recognized for their outstanding achievements in 4-H and is determined off of a points-based scoring system. To be eligible for this award, youth need to fill out this Achievement Journal to the best of their ability: AchievementJournalfillable.pdf (montana.edu).
Achievement Journals are due to our office on Sept. 7th by 5pm.

Earn MONEY for your 4-H Project or Club for the 2023-2024 Year!
We have the AMAZING opportunity to continue to work MSU Concessions and this has become a GREAT way to fundraise money for 4-H club/project activities! Please see the link below for the Fall Fundraising concessions events at MSU! The signup includes Bobcat Football games (most are already sold out games!), the Jelly Roll Concert and the Bonnie Raitt Concert.
Fall Fundraising Events:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c084da9a92aabfe3-fall1#/
During the 2022-2023 4-H Year, 4-H Clubs/Projects earned over $23,000 total working at MSU Concession events!! If club/project members sign up for a game as a group, your club/project will get ALL the tips and profits from that game. If multiple projects/clubs sign up for the same game, then the tips and profits will be split between the groups. So, we highly encourage you to gather up your members, pick a game/event that your club/project will work as one group to maximize the amount of money you will earn!
Depending on the game, the day/time/hours will vary and depending on our concessions stand location, the number of people we will need per game will vary. We will need a combination of youths (minimum age of 11 with parent accompaniment) and adults.
If you have any questions, please contact Shelly McPhee (ksmcphee0315@gmail.com or 406-595-4774).
